Connection
This is a utopian story in the future 50 years!
What big problem we will face in the future---the global aging. This means more and more old people will need a companion and health care, especially people who live far away from their children.
In the future, hologram technology and new materials become more and more advanced. with the real 3D image, People in a different places can easily contact each other and finish remote cooperation in the “same” and real-time space. But how can we use our sense organs to sense the physical object, just like we see it, hear it, touch it and smell it in the way which people did in the past hundred thousand years?
people can connect with each other easily, which can keep connected with your loved family in distance, and also can help the old people in distance.
Story 1:
When we connect with parents, by using
projecter, we can not only see the 3D image, but also can sense the temperature of the person we see, and you can feel the shape of the body. When you hold with their hands or hug them, you also can feel the same pressure, just like they are “real” by your side. Or even, you can smell.
The possible medium: light and air (by reorganizing the compose in the air, and making them react with each other).
Here the technology I use is a hologram, so I made a conceptual model--3D hologram pyramid.
Story 2
Remote assistant for old people
Many old people in the future live alone in their homes in China, how can we help them when they have an emergency or need to be noticed. We can track our parents at any time or at a fixed time. we can turn their image into the 3D image, when they need help, we can make a robot to help them, which will record our motion to the 3D image.
Here the technology I use is Arduino, which can operate machines to mirror people's behavior by sensors. so I made a conceptual model--Robotic hands.
