Ride sharing App for Midea staffs

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Once I worked at the headquarter of Midea, the biggest household electric appliance maker in China, and its headquarter, with about 4000 employees, located in a town—Beijiao. However, my colleagues always complained that the public transportation there was inconvenient, while most of them had no private cars and needed to go out of town every weekend to go home, see friends and so forth. By then, this was no effective way to satisfy their demand for journey.
SOLUTION PATH
To explore this problem deeply and offer an solution, I used some methods as following:
• Organized semi-structured interviews , through the interviews I came to the persona and journey map.
• Conducted competitor analysis to look for the reason why current Apps cannot solve the difficulties of my colleagues.
• Formed my own design ideas and presented it by storyboarding, site-map and hi-fi prototype.
INTERVIEWS
I interviewed 6 people who worked in the headquarter, they were in different departments and had a diversity of backgrounds, such as ages, positions in the company, has/no cars and so on. The talk mainly focused on the journey's progress. Then I divided these people into two groups: people who had no cars and people who had privacy cars. Then I found that:

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
I chose the two biggest and mature companies in the Market in China. They represented the current design trend of this type of Apps.This analysis focused on the interface of passengers since passengers faced more problems than drivers in this case.

In conclusion, the framework and interface of these two Apps are similar. Some features are needed to think again in this scenario.
• Available cars: Cars can be used in the platform of DiDi and Uber in this small town are limited
• Relationship—uncertainty
Focus on trades itself, relationships between drivers and passengers are uncertainty, almost strangers; the crime rates of this area is higher than it in other places in China
• Functions: Many unnecessary functions on these Apps for this scenario, especially on DiDi
• The route: Only decided by the system itself
DESIGN PRINCIPLE
Convenient
• People in Midea can act as passengers or drivers and send their orders in App, which will be auto-matched in it
• People can make an appointment, the same order would be sent at a fixed time every week
Relationship
• The identities of registers should match their employee information in Midea, they all work in the headquarters
Independent
• Drivers can choose a familiar route by themselves
